Wetland ProtectionAugust 14, 2015
One resource site we value on our family owned timberlands are wetlands, which provide special areas for fish and wildlife habitat. Our staff of professional foresters treats the land as if it were their own. They conscientiously make a voluntary effort by grouping leave trees around wetlands during unit layout to maximize beneficial values to these special sites. Once activities begin, a collaborative effort between the forester and the logging contractor aids in restoring, protecting and enhancing wetland areas on our private property. We realize each forest management activity we conduct is unique and presents different opportunities to enhance a myriad of resources. We are proud to say that the Oregon Department of Forestry recently recognized the collective effort of our foresters and contractors, a reflection of the quality professionals we employ and their commitment to sound forest management principles.
